MALE FERTILITY IN CHALLENGING TIMES

Sperm count in men has declined by >50% since the 1970s. Among other factors, this leads to a sharp increase in ART (Assisted Reproduction Techniques) procedures, reaching some 2,400,000 in 2018. Part of these procedures are male fertility assessments (spermograms) whose number has increased fivefold since the late 90s to some 10,000,000 p.a. now. This poses a problem for fertility clinics whose staff performs these analyses manually. This not only is a tedious process; it also lacks reliability while being resource-intensive. At mojo diagnostics, we are embracing these challenges to bring male fertility diagnostics - and eventually treatment - to a new level.
